[Bonetools] Turned bone tool fragment

Hi Janet - the cross section is curved outwards (almost like a tulip really)
with thin lip at the top. The grooves at the bottom are not a thread as they
all seem to be totally horizontal.

What does the cross section look like?  Do the grooves at the bottom look
like they were threads to screw another part on?

Dear all

Attached are two images of a fragment of a bone item recovered from a
historic site in northeastern Illinois. For context, the site dates between
1830 and 1860 and the feature containing the item also contains a wide array
of household and personal items.
