Hi Clare!
What does the cross section look like? Do the grooves at the bottom look like they were threads to screw another part on?

Subject: [Bonetools] Turned bone tool fragment
Dear all
Attached are two images of a fragment of a bone item recovered from a historic site in northeastern Illinois. For context, the site dates between 1830 and 1860 and the feature containing the item also contains a wide array of household and personal items.
