[shib_auth] logging in a drupal user with a shib session from another log in

I'm using Drupal 6 and the corresponding module. That may be the difference in the menus etc. Anyway, you confirmed that this should work as I thought. I am, next, going to disable the Drupal log in and see if the shibboleth login/session works in the Drupal login's place. Drupal is shibboleth protected and the session variables are there.

What you should check is whether Shibboleth is protecting or not. (Look for
the $_SERVER variables or use DEBUG mode in shib_auth.

You should really fix that first. It's a standard Drupal permissions issue.
Maybe because of some permission caching, don't know.

FWIW in D7 it's: Administration » Configuration » People » Shibboleth settings
