[Bonetools] Small eagle headed bone mount? Some help...

Dear colleagues
I have received these photos of a small bone carved object with one end in the shape of an eagle's head. The exact context is not known, but it is assumed to be from an Iron Age I site. I think it could be an appliqué for a box or some kind of wooden object, but I think it is of Roman chronology, at the very least. Could anyone give me information about similar object found anywhere and a more precise chronology?
