I have about the same feeling than Sonia O'Connor, the reason why I begged you to precise what part/kind of antler ; when zooming strong arises quite an impression of fish bone.

Dear Marloes,
Is this antler or could it be the compact bone tissue from one surface of something like cattle pelvis or horse mandible?
All the best,
Sonia

Subject: [Bonetools] antler disc
Dear all,
I am looking for similar finds or references for this antler disc (or perhaps for the decoration?). It is probably dating 13-15 century AD, it is made of antler and is rather thin. The traces at the back and the two pins show that it was probably inlay/mount of a casket or something else.
Thanks,
Marloes
