[Bonetools] Roman artefact Spain

Hello,
I agree it may be a handle but look at its size: 7 cm minus the right edge which was probably connected to the blade – rather small for a knife! Certainly too short for my hand. I suggest it belonged to a more delicate tool, perhaps a woman's with a smaller hand.

Subject: [Bonetools] Roman artefact Spain

Good morning everyone!

A colleague who is excavating at a Roman site in northern Spain has sent me the picture attached of an artefact and they are wondering what it might be. Any thoughts? I apologise for the bad quality of the photo, but they sent it to me directly from the field.

The object is around 7 cm long and is composed of two flat pieces, with bits of iron in the thiner end (the right one in the photo), like if it was studded in order to put something else there.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Best regards,

Idoia
