[Bonetools] "linen smoother"?

Hello Dave,

As an aside really there are just a few examples of bone linen smoothers, mostly as I remember from Holland and here is an old photograph of several from Dorestad, shown to me many years ago by Wietske Prummel. These are very much like the glass examples in form, and are highly polished. I’m not sure that these have ever been published,

Dear all, 
      There are ethnographically attested cases of cattle mandibles being used as linen smoothers in Norway in addition to the glass smoothers mentioned in your letter. So there is no objection to bone per se being used this way. The actually form is unknown to me. I have images somewhere if anyone is interested.
