Dear bonetool-list,
the WBRG-website has undergone some updates that may be of interest
for some of you to know.
The main changes are concerned with the upgrade of the content
management system behind the website to a new version. This has been
done in a cooperation between Andi Jacomet and me, where Andi die the
technical work while I adjusted the content. The new site went online
in June. While this was technically important it does not affect the
content of the site in general and may not be visible on first sight.
There are, however, some changes in the lay-out.
Apart from this there are some additions in the content:
• All information on the publication by Felix Lang of the Salzburg
meeting is now available on the page of the Salzburg meeting: http://
www.wbrg.net/meetings/salzburg-2011
Reference: Lang, Felix (2013): The Sound of Bones. Proceedings of the
8th Meeting of the ICAZ Worked Bone Research Group in Salzburg 2011,
Archaeo Plus. Schriften zur Archäologie und Archäometrie der Paris
Lodron-Universität Salzburg 5
All articles of the volume are included in the reference database at
http://www.wbrg.net/biblio/
• The link section contains new links to three New Zealand and one
Estonian bone worker
http://www.wbrg.net/links/2-allgemein/53-bone-workers
In particular these are:
Steven Myhre: http://www.stevemyhre.com/
Fumio Noguchi: http://www.nzboneart.com/
Su Keates: http://www.threemarchhares.com/
Monika Hint'i: http://kondikamber.blogspot.com/
The reference database keeps on growing. there are currently 1218
entries. Some new entries that maybe of wider interest are:
Bradfield, Justin (2013): Investigating the potential of micro-focus
computed tomography in the study of ancient bone tool function:
results from actualistic experiments. – Journal of Archaeological
Science 40, 2606-2613
Schibler, Jörg (2013): Bone and Antler Artefacts in Wetland Sites.
in: Menotti, Francesco & O'Sullivan, Aidan (eds.): The Oxford
Handbook of Wetland Archaeology, 339-355, Oxford
Wiltschek, Henriette (2013): Der Elefantenstuhl aus Stift
Kremsmünster (1554). Zur Klebung und Konservierung eines gravierten
Knochenobjekts, Diplomarbeit Universität für angewandte Kunst, Wien
So far for today.
Best
Christian
