Could you provide views of the top and bottom, with fresh brakes ? It's 
to try to solve the question of (décayed) ivory (?)
The front view let me remember of ivories from cf. 8th century, but not 
AD, rather before Christ. I prefer to ask mly colleague A. Caubet before 
really answering.
