Hello Benjamin, 
During your experiment, don't forget to use your one-sided perforated phalanx as a damping slipper that could have been employed for stopping a wheel - patin de freinage d'un tour (de potier?) ... Thus you may record two different lustre aspect, the straight side that is active with grind-like aspect (the slipper) and the opposite anatomical face that is shiny-polish-like by the "shoe" (the side that as been pushed).
