Hi everyone,

I'm working on remains from a dwelling mound site for my master thesis. In
the remains from the late Middle Ages a caudal vertebrae of a sperm whale
was found with at least two holes drilled into it. A function as a fishing
net weight has been suggested but i would like to know if anyone else has
and idea about the function of this object. Has anyone encountered similar
worked whale vertebrae before? I've posted a picture on bonecommons:

thank you,
