Now that I think of it what about equine bone (horse, mule, donkey). Pig bone is largely out of 
the questions - same thing for sheep/goat because their bones really don't yield that much 
compacta. If you are in North America then there are a number of large wild animals such as 
buffalo and various cervidae that might also be considered.
