[shib_auth] Drupal 8 work?

Hi All,

We're currently testing out shib_auth, but this had us wondering about D8. While D8 is certainly a while away from the RC phase, I was wondering about any work/plans for the D8 version? It doesn't appear there's a branch registered on d.o., not there necessarily needs to be one at this point.
