                   FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPERS

AIMS AND SCOPE

The  purpose  of the Finno-Ugric Symposium on Programming Languages  and
Software Tools is to provide a forum for software scientists  to present
and discuss recent researches and developments in computer science.
This  symposium is the tenth in a  series of  conferences which arose in
1989 from the cooperation of Finnish and Hungarian universities.
Since then it is  organized every two  years, with  participants  coming
from various institutes, universities from Estonia, Finland and Hungary.

The tenth symposium is organized by  Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest.
The scope of the symposium is not restricted, it covers ongoing research
in the  participating  countries  related to  software  technology  with
emphasize in programming languages and software tools e.g.:

      * algorithms and data structures,
      * programming languages and paradigms,
      * software engineering,
      * information systems,
      * logic and declarative programming,
      * parallel and distributed computing,
      * modeling and simulation,
      * pattern recognition,
      * embedded computing,
      * etc.

SUBMISSIONS

We highly  encourage  authors to give a talk at the symposium and submit
full papers (max 15 LNCS format pages) to splst07 at inf.elte.hu by Apr 15,
2007.  Authors of accepted  talks are  requested to  submit camera-ready 
papers to be included in the proceedings by May 20, 2007. 
Submission of work submitted for formal  publication elsewhere and  work
in progress is permitted.  After the symposium,  selected papers will be
published in a special issue of the journal ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS SCIEN-
TIARUM DE ROLANDO EÖTVÖS NOMINATAE Sectio Computatorica

      Nov 20, 2007 - Notification of acceptance/rejection
      Dec 15, 2007 - Camera-ready papers

SYMPOSIUM SCHEDULE

      June 14 evening: arrival and dinner (bus transport from Budapest)
      June 15 and June 16 morning: technical programme
      June 16 afternoon: excursion to Esztergom, and return to Budapest

VENUE

SPLST will take place at Dobogókö, Hungary, June 14-16, 2007.

The registration fee (250 Euro) will include the cost of accommodation,
meals, transport from Budapest to Dobogókö, and excursion.

symposium.
