Dear Collegues,
As you can see the mailing list for the Worked Bone
Research Group (WBRG) established this February in London with Dr.
Ian Riddler at Cantebury is working at last. During the one day meeting
held at the British Museum we had a brief chance to get together and
hear a little about some of the work going on. One of the aims of this
group is to improve communications between people working on this
subject in relative isolation around Europe and insure that prehistorians
and proto-historians; archaeologists and archaeozoologists begin to
speak to each other.
At present, the plan is to organize the next meeting here in
Budapest in September 1999. I should like to hold a more extensive
meeting of around thrity speakers over three days. In between, Ian
Riddler may hold another smaller meeting, again in England so
momentum is not lost.
In the meantime, I would be very grateful if you would send
me the names, addresses and above all E-mail addresses of anyone
you know who might be interested in being put on our mailing list.
Finally, Ian and I thought that it would be very useful to
complie a short targeted bilbliography of the work carried out by
members of the group. If you could send a two-three sentence review
of your fields of interest as well as a bibliography of your work from the
last five years or any article/book written before that time you consider
important.

You may respond either to the mail list, in which case everyone will
read what you have to say or to me directly at: H13017cho at ella.hu

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
