Könyvtárosok minapi tanácskozásán nagy felzúdulás fogadta, hogy vannak, akik a
diákok számára könnyebben befogadható szövegek kiadását tervezik elsősorban
Jókai Mór műveiből. A rövidítési szándék vitathatónak látszik, hiszen a Harry
Potter vagy a Gyűrűk ura terjedelme nem riasztja el a gyerekeket. Annál
nehezebben birkóznak meg a régies nyelvvel. Meggondolandó tehát: ha Radnótihoz
vagy Karinthyhoz hasonló nagyság gondoskodna róla, talán a XIX. századi
irodalmunk olyan remekművének is nagy olvasótábora alakulhatna ki, mint,
mondjuk, <i><span style='font-style:italic'>Eötvös József </span></i>mára
szinte elfeledett,<i><span style='font-style:italic'> </span></i>Magyarország
