The Information Resource Center (IRC) atJacobs UniversityBremeninvites
applications for the full-time position of a
*Technical Services Librarian -- Electronic Resources (f/m)*
Responsibilities:
·Manage our large electronic resources collection using an electronic
resource management system (Verde), link resolver (SFX), and integrated
library management system (Innovative Interfaces Millennium)
·Manage and monitor the electronic resource product life cycles through
trial, evaluation, purchase and renewal to ensure compliance and
functionality
·Negotiate licenses for databases, e-journals and e-journal packages
·Collaborate with library staff in developing, cataloguing and
maintaining the electronic resources collection
·Liaise with vendors to ensure that access and licensing issues are
promptly addressed and resolved
·Keep abreast of developments, trends and issues in all areas of
responsibilities
Required qualifications:
·Library degree (Master, Diplom/Bachelor, or equivalent)
·Experience managing electronic resources in an academic or research library
·Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·Proficiency in English and German (at least C1 level of the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages)
·Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred qualifications:
·Working knowledge of an ERM system and/or link resolver (preferably
Verde/SFX), and an integrated library management system
·Experience in acquisition of print and online resources
·Familiarity with consortial and national license models inGermany
