applications for the full-time position of an
Interlibrary Loan Librarian (f/m)
Responsibilities:
·Manage and coordinate interlibrary loan (ILL) services atJacobsUniversity
·Instruct patrons regardingILLand circulation services, electronic
resource access, and library usage
·Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff
·Communicate with patrons and national and international libraries in
both written and spoken German and English
·Actively maintain the library website and internal documentation
regarding interlibrary loan services, policies, and workflows
·Provide daily circulation support duties
Required qualifications:
·Library degree (Diplom/Bachelor or equivalent)
·Familiarity with ILL procedures in an academic or research library
inGermany
·Working knowledge of electronic information resources (library
catalogs, bibliographic databases and other online information resources)
·Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·Proficiency in English and German (at least B2 level of the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages)
·Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred:
·Experience in supervising student assistants
·Working knowledge of a library management system
·Experience editing web content
·Knowledge of current copyright trends and ILL practices inGermanyand
worldwide
