3 June 2024: Introduction to SURF Research Cloud on-site TU Delft. (NCC Netherlands): This training explains cloud computing in general. The accompanying hands-on approach introduces you to (some of) the many features of SURF Research Cloud. You will learn how to create and manage your own virtual computing environment(s). 3 June 2024: Accelerating your computing with the LUMI European supercomputer (NCC Poland), on-site, Warsaw, Poland: This half-day workshop is presenting typical transition steps from common clusters and cloud resources together with use cases with both traditional HPC workloads and fundamental elements for running large models with machine learning frameworks. 4-7 June 2024: 2nd International Workshop on Machine Learning and Quantum Computing Applications in Medicine and Physics (NCC Poland), Warsaw, Poland: one week-long workshop covering applications of Machine Learning and Quantum Computing in medicine and physics, including hands-on training sessions on LUMI supercomputer and customization of Large Language Models (LLM). 5-7 June 2024: Hackathon by HiDALGO2, CIRCE and SEAVEAVVUQ projects (CoE HiDALGo2), Hybrid: HiDALGO2 project together with CIRCE and SEAVEA projects organise a joint hackathon that focuses on enabling Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ) for global challenge applications (e.g., those used in HiDALGO2 and CIRCE) using the SEAVEA toolkit. 5-7 June 2024: Poland N-Ways to GPU Programming Bootcamp (NCC Poland), online: The N-Ways to GPU Programming Bootcamp covers the basics of GPU programming and provides an overview of different methods for porting scientific application to GPUs using NVIDIA® CUDA®, OpenACC, standard languages, OpenMP offloading. 10-13 June 2024: Austrian-Slovenian HPC Meeting 2024 ( NCC Austria, NCC Slovenia) on-site at Grundlsee, Austria: ASHPC24<https://ashpc.eu/event/23/> is an annual event that brings together HPC users and providers from Austria, Slovenia and other European countries to discuss the latest research results and exchange perspectives on current problems and possible solutions in the field HPC, HPDA & AI. Mostly, the meeting is for academia, but we also always have keynote speakers and guests from SMEs and large companies. 13 June 2024: HPC basic course on-site at Wageningen University. (NCC Netherlands) Did you recently start using the High Performance Computing Cluster (HPC Anunna)? Do you have some basic Linux knowledge but want to know more about how things work on Anunna? Join the free 5 hours course on the basics of the HPC. You will be set to work on computing tasks to gain insight and experience with Anunna. The course is organized by SRF and WDCC with contributions from WUR scientists experienced on Anunna.



13 June 2024: Seminar Solving Optimisation Problems Using the NISQ Era Quantum Computers (NCC CZ) Hybrid format: The third seminar in the Quantum Computing series will address one of the possible future practical applications of quantum computers – solving optimisation problems. The most promising algorithm in this area appears to be the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA), which will be the main focus of this talk. 25 June - 4 July, 2024: The CSC Summer School in High-Performance Computing 2024, onsite at Espoo/Finland (NCC Finland): Summer School brings together undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in different disciplines of scientific computing from all over the world. The contents consist of lectures and hands-on training on parallel programming, code optimization and other necessary skills in development of scientific software. 9-18 July 2024: Poland Open Hackathon (NCC Poland), Online: The goal of the Open Hackathon is for computational scientists to port, accelerate, and optimize their scientific applications to modern computer architectures, including CPUs, GPUs, and other computing technologies. Participating teams should leave the event either with their applications accelerated and/or optimized on the latest supercomputing hardware or with a clear roadmap of the next steps needed to leverage these resources. 27 August- 02 September 2024: 1st ESiWACE3-WarmWorld Summer School on HPC for Climate and Weather Applications ( Coe ESiWACE3) on-side in Helsinki ,Finland: This Event aims to bring together young researchers and software engineers interested in the current technological developments in the field of climate modelling. Together, they will explore hot topics in high-performance computing for climate and weather applications. 2-3 Sept 2024: Nordic Industry Days: Supercomputing, the gateway to AI (NCC Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland) in Copenhagen, on-site: This event is a unique opportunity for industry professionals and high-tech startups to explore the latest developments in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing in the Nordic region. 17 October 2024 :Linux basic course on-site at Wageningen University. (NCC Netherlands): Join the free 5 hours course on the basics of Linux for working on the HPC. 22 October 2024: Container Fundamentals on-site at Wageningen University. (NCC Netherlands): Do you want to run your applications in a scalable, easy to maintain and portable way? Self-study: Elements of Supercomputing (NCC Finland): This online course gives you the fundamentals of supercomputers, the essential vocabulary needed to understand what supercomputers really are all about, and what is needed to understand how they are being operated. Self-study: CSC Computing Environment (NCC Finland):  This online self-learning course about CSC Computing Environment contains the basics of what everyone should know about using an HPC environment when launching jobs.
