12 February 2024 : The EBRAINS Project: A Gateway to Collaborative Neuroscience Webinar, organized by CASTIEL WP2 This webinar aims at introducing EBRAINS, a digital research infrastructure that is accelerating collaborative brain research across neuroscience, brain health, and brain-related technologies. The session will commence with an overview of EBRAINS by Prof. Petra Ritter (EBRAINS coordinator), followed by a detailed presentation on the platform tools and datasets by Anastasiia Andriievska. As a member of the European Open Science Cloud association (EOSC), EBRAINS exemplifies open science, fostering collaboration on new research projects, infrastructure development, and sharing of data and knowledge across disciplines, institutions, and borders. The webinar aims to explore potential collaborations with interested NCCs and CoEs and demonstrate how EBRAINS’ commitment to Responsible Research and Innovation practices can shape research in ethical ways that serve the public interest. 14-16 Feb, 2024: High-Level GPU Programming course, in Espoo, Finland (NCC Finland) on-site: After this 3-day course, participants are able to write hardware-agnostic code to express parallelism using SYCL and Kokkos that can run on CPU, Nvidia GPU, or AMD GPU, manage memory across devices, do basic performance analysis, and evaluate the drawbacks between different approaches for programming GPUs. 21-24- February 2024: 28th International Information Technology Conference IT (co-organizer NCC Montenegro) hybrid form: NCC Montenegro is a co-organizer of the 28th International Information Technology Conference IT in February 2024 and offers the opportunity to EuroCC2 NCC members to present their technical research papers, but also papers related to the adoption of HPC/AI technology by industry, academia and the public sector. We consider this conference as a great opportunity to further enhance international dissemination/exploitation of EuroCC/EuroCC2 results and to foster cross-NCCs collaboration, by presenting scientific papers and industry achievements among researchers, engineers and professionals.The conference is organized in a hybrid format, so if you cannot visit the Žabljak in the beautiful Montenegrin mountains, you can present the papers online. Full paper submission deadline: 17.01.2024. All accepted papers will be submitted for publication in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. 27 February 2024: Machine Learning with spatial data -hybrid seminar (NCC Finland): The aim of this seminar is to share best practices of Machine Learning with spatial data and to exchange experiences and ideas among spatial Machine Learning researchers and practitioners. The seminar is open and free of charge to everyone interested. The only prerequisite for participation is to have an interest in Machine Learning with spatial data. 6-7 March 2024: Fundamental Quantum Computing Algorithms and Their Implementation in Qiskit cours (NCC Czech Republic), online: Quantum computers are based on a completely different principle than classical computers and even the supercomputers. The aim of this course is to explain this difference by showing how basic quantum computing algorithms work in practice. It is focused on the theoretical foundations, mathematical description, and practical testing of the resulting quantum circuits on real quantum computers and their simulators in the Qiskit environment.
