27 February 2024: Machine Learning with spatial data -hybrid seminar (NCC Finland): The aim of this seminar is to share best practices of Machine Learning with spatial data and to exchange experiences and ideas among spatial Machine Learning researchers and practitioners. The seminar is open and free of charge to everyone interested. The only prerequisite for participation is to have an interest in Machine Learning with spatial data. 6-7 March 2024: Fundamental Quantum Computing Algorithms and Their Implementation in Qiskit cours (NCC Czech Republic), online: Quantum computers are based on a completely different principle than classical computers and even the supercomputers. The aim of this course is to explain this difference by showing how basic quantum computing algorithms work in practice. It is focused on the theoretical foundations, mathematical description, and practical testing of the resulting quantum circuits on real quantum computers and their simulators in the Qiskit environment. 6 March 2024: European AI Applications – Large Language Models for Business (NCC Austria), in English, online: This webinar aims to show how startups and established companies leverage the underlying technology in large language models (LLMs) for their products and services. Very often Europe’s heterogenous linguistic landscape makes the adoption of LLMs a challenge for businesses. This webinar will expound on how to overcome these challenges and how businesses can utilise European supercomputing power to achieve their entrepreneurial objectives and develop cutting-edge products. 11-12 April 2024: 4th Baltic HPC and Cloud Conference (NCC Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark) on-site, in Riga: We invite you to join the conference for the Baltic Sea region to exchange ideas and discuss future collaboration models with NCCs, CoEs, EDIHs, and governmental representatives. We will have separate sessions dedicated to each of these topics, including Industry sessions with real-life examples from SMEs in using HPC, Quantum Computing with European perspective and main differences between QC and HPC. We will look into new developments in HPC and HPC training, as well as authentification possibilities to access HPC. 17-19 April 2024: CSC Spring School on Computational Chemistry, in Espoo, Finland (NCC Finland, BioExcel CoE) on-site: CSC, in collaboration with EuroCC2 and BioExcel3, is organizing the Spring School on 17th to 19th April 2024 at it’s Espoo office premises. The school provides a comprehensive, theory and hands-on training on molecular modelling and computational chemistry using modern supercomputers. The program will primarily focus on the following topics: classical molecular dynamics, electronic structure theory, machine learning in chemistry, and enhanced sampling methods. The school is a must for graduate students in the field of computational chemistry and is also suitable for industry representatives aiming to get a hands-on introduction to molecular modelling. 10-13 June 2024: Austrian-Slovenian HPC Meeting 2024 ( NCC Austria, NCC Slovenia) on-site at Grundlsee, Autria: ASHPC24<https://ashpc.eu/event/23/> is an annual event that brings together HPC users and providers from Austria, Slovenia and other European countries to discuss the latest research results and exchange perspectives on current problems and possible solutions in the field HPC, HPDA & AI. Mostly, the meeting is for academia, but we also always have keynote speakers and guests from SMEs and large companies.
