11 April 2024 : End-to-end Data Management for Data Supporters on-site Amsterdam. Do you want to know more about the tools and facilities for compute and data to better support researchers in Research Data Management (RDM)? Then please join us for this in-person training! 11-12 April 2024: 4th Baltic HPC and Cloud Conference (NCC Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark) on-site, in Riga: We invite you to join the conference for the Baltic Sea region to exchange ideas and discuss future collaboration models with NCCs, CoEs, EDIHs, and governmental representatives. We will have separate sessions dedicated to each of these topics, including Industry sessions with real-life examples from SMEs in using HPC, Quantum Computing with European perspective and main differences between QC and HPC. We will look into new developments in HPC and HPC training, as well as authentification possibilities to access HPC. 17-19 April 2024: CSC Spring School on Computational Chemistry, in Espoo, Finland (NCC Finland, BioExcel CoE) on-site: CSC, in collaboration with EuroCC2 and BioExcel3, is organizing the Spring School on 17th to 19th April 2024 at it’s Espoo office premises. The school provides a comprehensive, theory and hands-on training on molecular modelling and computational chemistry using modern supercomputers. The program will primarily focus on the following topics: classical molecular dynamics, electronic structure theory, machine learning in chemistry, and enhanced sampling methods. The school is a must for graduate students in the field of computational chemistry and is also suitable for industry representatives aiming to get a hands-on introduction to molecular modelling. 15 April 2024: Introduction to Supercomputing, part II on-site Eindhoven. If you need to perform many calculations, or analyses that are too big for your own system, clusters and supercomputers provide the computing power you need. 17 April 2024: Cours: “Introduction to Scientific Visualization with ParaView” (NCC Netherlands and NCC Czechia) online: This foundational course introduces participants to the fundamentals of scientific visualisation using ParaView, an accessible and powerful open-source tool widely utilised in academic and professional settings. Participants will have developed a foundational skill set in leveraging ParaView for scientific visualisation. Equipped with this knowledge, attendees will be poised to explore advanced techniques and applications further, laying a solid groundwork for continued growth and proficiency in the field. 17 April 2024: Webinar Enhancing CFD simulations, organised by EuroCC Belgium, VSC, Siemens, Daikin and DEME. Join us in this engaging webinar, as we explore the frontier of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) through the lens of high-performance computing. Liam McManus from Siemens will kick off the event by discussing the advantages of GPU-accelerated CFD with Simcenter STAR-CCM+, focusing on efficiency and performance enhancement.  This event is relevant for scientific and industrial researchers, HPC enthusiasts, and governmental officials. 18 April 2024: Energy Aware Simulations on-site Eindhoven. The energy usage of computing infrastructure is becoming an increasingly prominent topic for computing systems design and usage. 19 April 2024: ParaView for (remote) visualizations on-site Eindhoven. In this course you will get to know the fundamentals of scientific visualisation using ParaView. The main topics will cover the 3D data manipulation model and pipelines, learning how to work with simulation data effectively. 23 April 2024: Introduction Scientific Visualisation with Blender: Data, Lights, Camera, Action! on-site Amsterdam. Would you like to make 3D visualizations that are visually more attractive than what ParaView or VisIt can provide? Do you need an image for a grant application that needs to look spectacular? Would you like to create a cool animation of your simulation data? Then this course may be for you! 25 Aptil - 3 May 2024: Advanced Topics in Scientific Visualization with Blender: Geometry, Scripts, Animation, Action!. Online. This course is a follow-up to our introductory Blender course. We assume you are familiar with working with Blender and have some experience with topics such as the Blender UI, 3D meshes, materials, lighting and cameras. 16 May 2024 :Linux basic course on-site at Wageningen University. Join the free 5 hours course on the basics of Linux for working on the HPC. You will learn the Linux commands and skills needed to create repetitive tasks. The course is organized by FB-IT and SRF with contributions from WUR scientists experienced on the HPC. 23 May 2024: Container Fundamentals on-site at Wageningen University. Do you want to run your applications in a scalable, easy to maintain and portable way? Are you already using containers, but want to learn more about the Kubernetes Container Orchestration Platform? Then the following course is probably something for you!



3 June 2024: Introduction to SURF Research Cloud on-site TU Delft. This training explains cloud computing in general. The accompanying hands-on approach introduces you to (some of) the many features of SURF Research Cloud. You will learn how to create and manage your own virtual computing environment(s). 4-7 June 2024: 2nd International Workshop on Machine Learning and Quantum Computing Applications in Medicine and Physics (NCC Poland), Warsaw, Poland: one week-long workshop covering applications of Machine Learning and Quantum Computing in medicine and physics, including hands-on training sessions on LUMI supercomputer and customization of Large Language Models (LLM). 5-7 June 2024: Poland N-Ways to GPU Programming Bootcamp (NCC Poland), online: The N-Ways to GPU Programming Bootcamp covers the basics of GPU programming and provides an overview of different methods for porting scientific application to GPUs using NVIDIA® CUDA®, OpenACC, standard languages, OpenMP offloading. 10 June 2024: Central European NCCs Workgroup Meeting ( NCC Austria, NCC Slovenia) on-site at Grundlsee, Austria: On Monday, in the afternoon preceding ASHPC24, there will be a Central European NCCs Workgroup Meeting (for NCC / EuroCC 2 staff only) where the National Competence Centres (NCCs) address their most challenging topics and further regional collaboration. 10-13 June 2024: Austrian-Slovenian HPC Meeting 2024 ( NCC Austria, NCC Slovenia) on-site at Grundlsee, Autria: ASHPC24<https://ashpc.eu/event/23/> is an annual event that brings together HPC users and providers from Austria, Slovenia and other European countries to discuss the latest research results and exchange perspectives on current problems and possible solutions in the field HPC, HPDA & AI. Mostly, the meeting is for academia, but we also always have keynote speakers and guests from SMEs and large companies. 25 June - 4 July 2024: The CSC Summer School in High-Performance Computing 2024, onsite at Espoo/Finland (NCC Finland): Summer School brings together undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in different disciplines of scientific computing from all over the world. The contents consist of lectures and hands-on training on parallel programming, code optimization and other necessary skills in development of scientific software.
