Kutatók éjszakája 2023: idén a HPC KK két helyszínen is megjelent: Budapesten, a nagy érdeklődésre való tekintettel, végül 3 turnusban összesen körülbelül 70 fő vett részt a bemutatókon, minden korosztály képviseltette magát; Debrecenben a meghirdetett "Csúcstechnológia: szuperszámítógép a kutatásban" esemény keretében két csoportban mintegy 30 érdeklődőnek mutatták be kollégáink a Komondort.

20 October 2023, PRACE Scientific and Innovation Case 2024 - Kick Off Workshop - Paris, This prefigures what would be the type of activities that PRACE will take up starting next year as an Association of Users and HPC Centres in Europe while continuing very on the line that PRACE has followed since its foundation: supporting Science and Innovation. 24 October 2023, 11 a.m. CET : Large Language Model: A Challenge Called Scalability Seminar, organized by CASTIEL WP2 The advent of Large Language Models (LLMs) has ushered in a new era for deep learning, transforming various application contexts from Natural Language Processing to Computer Vision. However, fully harnessing the potential of these models entails confronting a series of challenges, particularly in terms of numerical stability during training and performance optimization. In this webinar for NCCs and CoEs, Giuseppe Fiameni (Data Scientist at NVIDIA) will explore the fundamental aspects of LLMs and analyze the crucial role that computing infrastructures play in this context. Model complexity, data preprocessing, computational requirements, and optimization techniques will be discussed. 8 November 2023: Parallel Computing with MATLAB and Scaling MATLAB Code to the HPC Cluster. (NCC Czech Republic) hybrid form : This two-part hands-on workshop will introduce you to parallel computing with MATLAB so that you can solve computationally and data-intensive problems using multicore processors, GPUs, and computer clusters. 13-15 November 2023: Workshop High Performance Programming ( NCC Sweden) online: Our workshop is designed for those familiar with the C language, but will also be relevant to Fortran programmers, with a hardware focus on modern 64-bit x86 systems. We will assume a Linux environment, as it is the most common in high performance computing. 11-13 December 2023: Multi-architecture oaallelism usig Kokkos/C++ training (NCC France) on-side: This training aims at providing a dedicated introduction to the open source Kokkos C++ library, which is mainly developped in US (Sandia and OakRidge labs) for about a decade, and funded by the Departement of Energy, under the Exascale Computing Project (ECP). We will present a theoretical and practical introduction to the Kokkos programming model, illustrating the advantages over other alternative shared memory programming model like OpenMP/OpenACC.
