reputation for being in the front in implementing a policy of gender equality.
In present time the combination of high female employment and high birth rate
are met with particular interest. This lecture will be discussing some of the
premises of the success, but also be dealing with some of the more seamy sides
of the matter.</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB"
lang=EN-GB>What kinds of visions and expectations have been underlying the
Norwegian path toward gender equality? In which way has the balance between
rights and utility been handled during the political process? </SPAN><SPAN
