Call for papers: Abstracts of papers in (comparative) cultural studies are
invited for the 6th International Congress of Hungarian Studies
<http://www.hungkong.unideb.hu/kf_e.html>. The theme of the congress is
"Culture, Nation, Identity." Cultural Studies is defined as a field of
scholarship employing contextual approaches in the study of products of and
processes in culture in all their forms and analyzing the social, political,
historical, economic, etc., context in which culture manifests itself. In
addition to the field of cultural studies, abstracts of papers are invited
in particular in the field of comparative cultural studies (for a definition
see <http://clcwebjournal.lib.purdue.edu/clcweb99-3/totosy99.html>). Please
send abstracts in 200 words in either English, French, German, or Hungarian
with a brief biographical profile of the abstract's author -- please specify
"cultural studies" -- to <hungkong at puma.unideb.hu> by 30 April 2006. The
organizers of the panels in (comparative) cultural studies are Steven Totosy
<http://clcwebjournal.lib.purdue.edu/totosycv.html> at <clcweb at purdue.edu>
and Louise O. Vasvari <http://www.sunysb.edu/complit/cvs.htm> at
<louise.vasvari at sunysb.edu>: please copy your abstract to Totosy and
Vasvari. The length of presentations is 20 minutes with 10 minutes reserved
for discussion. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the
peer-reviewed, fullt-text, and open-access Purdue University journal CLCWeb:
