Subject: Call for European Feminist Forum Affinity Groups
Dear Friends,
Greetings to you from Amsterdam!
May I invite you to be part of a new exciting idea?
As you may have heard, various European women's networks have taken the initiative to organise a European Feminist Forum, at the end of 2007. The networks who took this initiative are:
* the WIDE network, Globalising gender equality and social justice (www.wide-network.org)
* Astra, the Central and Eastern European Women's Network for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (http://www.womenaction.org/csw44/astra.html <http://www.womenaction.org/csw44/astra.html> )
* Babaylan, the Philippine Women's Network in Europe
* the networks of the International Information Center and Archives for the Women's Movement (www.iiav.nl),
* the Women's Peace Makers Program of IFOR (www.ifor.org/WPP/ <http://www.ifor.org/WPP/> )
* Karat Coalition, a network of women's NGOs from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (www.karat.org <http://www.karat.org/> )
* NEWW, the Network of East-West Women (www.neww.org <http://www.neww.org/> )
* The network of the Roma Women's Initiative (www.romawomensinitiatives.org <http://www.romawomensinitiatives.org/> )
Various other networks and organisations are already involved. The Secretariat for the European Feminist Forum has been located in Amsterdam, at the IIAV.
Now, as part of the preparation process, we are calling for Affinity Groups, groups that will work on a subject of their choice, working on content to make our discussions during the European Feminist Forum more meaningful. All the details can be found in the attached Call. This is your chance to be an important part of the European Feminist Forum, and to contribute to the new feminist political agendas
May we please ask you to:
1. disseminate this Call for European Feminist Forum Affinity Groups as widely as possible? Please think of your newsletter, your list serves, mailing lists and websites and the networks that you have access to, the conferences that you will attend...
2. think of yourselves, the groups/networks that you are part of, as a potential Affinity Groups. Write to us with a proposal
All further details can be found in the attached Call. The deadline for the Affinity Group proposals is 15 December 2006. We are looking forward to hear from you.
