Students' and Graduates' Conference on Historical Anthropology 2005

in Graz/Austria, 8/09/2005 - 11/09/2005


"Intimate and Public Worlds in Western Europe, in the Balkans

and in Central Europe"


organised by:


University of Graz/Austria (Department of Southeast European History),

University of Blagoevgrad/Bulgaria (International Seminar for Balkanistic Research and Spezialisations) and

University of Vienna



We are pleased to invite graduate students in the fields of history, ethnology, linguistics, sociology, theology, literature and other humanities from Austria and from the Balkan countries to the interdisciplinary "Students' and Graduates' Conference on Historical Anthropology 2005". You are welcome to present current scientific projects in this field.


The conference is based on an interdisciplinary approach, and we are interested to have presentations of methodological-theoretical projects as well as empirical case studies referring to historical dynamics.


If you are interested to attend, to present your current work and to discuss it with participants from the Balkans and from Central Europe and with (graduate) students from Austria, please send us:



  a.. a short summary of your scientific project in this field (max. 4,000 characters)


  b.. 2-3 questions concerning your work that you would like to discuss at the conference.


The Working Language is English.


For participants from the Balkans all fees (travel costs, boarding and accommodation) will be covered.
