Program of donation of The World Bank
Program overview
Over the next twelve months, the World Bank Group, is donating
its used computer systems through Gifts In Kind International to
non-profit and non-governmental organizations in the countries
in which
the World Bank has facilities, and other countries in which
significant need exists for technology.
Through this program the World Bank will assist nonprofits/NGOs
with programs in the areas of
education (K-12), job training, opportunities for youth,
maternal and child health, adult
literacy/mentoring, and other critical social community
services. Organizations with nonprofit status in
the country in which they are located, providing services in
those categories are the types of
organizations qualified to receive contributions.
This application is for NGOs, located outside of the U.S.
requesting computer donations from World
Bank Offices. Please check the list of participating country
locations and the program status by location
before completing the application. Visit
www.giftsinkind.org/worldbank.asp to review the list of
participating locations.
Eligibility Guidelines - Organizations qualified to receive
product contributions must:
?Be specifically designated by The World Bank or registered with
Gifts In Kind International, either
directly or through a Gifts In Kind® program.
?Use the computer systems to operate their offices or to train
needy individuals.
?Not advocate, support or practice discrimination based on race,
religion, age, national origin,
language, sex, sexual preference, or physical handicap.
?Use the products for its charitable purpose and not sell trade,
barter, or auction any of the goods
donated.
?Be located in countries of special need or in which a World
Bank facility is located.
?Must focus on one of the following program areas: education
(improving K-12 and adult literacy), job
training, opportunities for youth, maternal and child health,
adult literacy/mentoring, and other critical
social community services. A description of the program must be
included on this application. (Page 2,
question number 3)
?If your organization is approved to receive the donation, you
will receive distribution instructions from
Gifts In Kind International.
Application Process
?If your organization meets those guidelines you are invited to
apply to receive up to 10 used computer
systems by completing this application and submitting it to
Gifts In Kind International at the address on
the last page of this application. Once your organization's
application has been reviewed, you will
receive an email providing information about the status of the
donation. The donation process will
proceed over approximately 9 months. Your request will be
handled in the order in which it is received.
All applications will be accepted for the program on a first-
come first-served basis.
