CALL FOR PAPERS

Regional Network for Gender/Women's Studies in South Eastern Europe

Textbook Series of Gender Studies in South Eastern Europe:

Politics of Memory; Gender and Identites; Feminist Theories

Following the Conclusions from the Regional Conference "Strategies for Gender/Women's Studies in SEE" held 5-8th February 2004 in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia, the Network for Gender/Women's Studies in South Eastern Europe is putting together a textbook series on the following subjects:

Politics of Memory

Editors: Andrea Peto and Svetlana Slapsak

Gender and Identites

Editors: Jelisaveta Blagojevic, Katerina Kolozova, Nadya Radulova

Feminist Theories

Editors: Dasa Duhacek and Miglena Nikolchina

to be published in 2005.

The Editoral board is seeking submitions of articles or book chapters, or recomendations of seminal writtings on the subjects of Politics of Memory, Gender and Identities and Feminist Theories, which are already published in the languages from the region (Serbian, Croat, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Slovenian, Greek, Turkish, Albanian).

The scholarship on these topics in the region remained unaccessible due to the limited circulation of the journals and books in which the articles were published, and to the language barriers. The purpose of the series is to make this scholarhsip visible to the academic and activist community and to provide teachers and researchers, and especially students of gender studies with a valuable source of knowledge and reference. This textbook series aims to serve the need of women's studies and gender studies, mainly in higher education, but also on lower educational levels, for instance for teachers in colleges and high schools. It will be translated into all languages of the region and to English.

Please submit the details of your proposed article: title, exact publication data, summary of 250 words, and a copy of the text in the local language by September 15th, 2004, to
