> The training course “Developing awareness about gender based
> violence and gender mainstreaming” is organised in order to
> support the work of youth work in violence prevention and to
> further develop approaches in dealing with gender-based violence.
> The activity will explicitly deal with challenges that young men
> and young women face in dealing with violence in their everyday
> life, be it in school, in their free time, in the streets or in
> their families.

> The training course is an important element in the Council of
> Europe’s youth programme “Youth promoting human rights and social
> cohesion” as well as its Integrated Project “Responses to
> violence in everyday life”.

> Profile of participants
>
> The course will bring together some 30 participants who are:
> motivated youth leaders and workers, project leaders, trainers,
> NGO representatives and other multipliers who are already
> involved in youth projects on gender-based violence and gender
> mainstreaming such as work with boys and young men or women’s
> rights and violence against young women;
>
> experienced youth leaders and workers, project leaders, trainers
> and other multipliers who would like to introduce or strengthen a
> focus on gender in their own ongoing youth projects.

> In general all applicants should be:
> actively involved within youth or human rights non-governmental
> organisations, associations and initiatives OR within relevant
> governmental organisations, institutions and agencies in Europe;
>
> motivated to contribute to the course and share experiences in
> the field of gender-based violence and gender mainstreaming;
>
> experienced in non-formal education practices;
>
> in the position to act as multipliers in organisations and
> projects at local, national and European level after the course;
>
> preferably aged between 18 and 35;
>
> able to work and communicate in English or in Russian;
>
> committed to attend the full duration of the activity.

> Languages
>
> English and Russian are planned as the working languages of the
> course. Due to technical limitations, Russian will be used in all
> plenary sessions but only in selected workshops only. Part of the
> course documentation will be translated into Russian.

> However, in order to better adapt the course to the actual
> language needs of participants, all candidates are requested to
> state in their application forms all the languages in which they
> are able to work in. Candidates must have sufficient
> understanding of one of the working languages in order to
