Akit érdekel, menjen!

Hozzánk futott be az e-mail, de ez nem igazán a mi területünk.

Sok sikert hozzá, kár volna kihagyni :-)

Tárgy: 2003 NEWW Gender Policy Conference Invitation

NEWW-Polska would like to invite you to the 2003 NEWW Gender Policy
Conference "Economy and Women" which will take place on 24-27th of April
2003 in Gdansk, Poland.

The 2003 NEWW Gender Policy Conference will bring together around 40 women
from CEE/NIS, the U.S. and Western Europe. The Conference will focus on
policy questions as key issues facing women from the EU countries as well as
other CEE/NIS countries. In the present world, a lack of economic
information keeps women and women's NGOs from productively engaging in
economic and social justice issues. Most urgently, women in EU candidate
countries and other CEE/NIS countries need information, training and
regional cooperation to educate themselves and one another, and to undertake
collaborative advocacy initiatives.

The Conference will be run in three concurrent sessions (Gender Budgeting,
Mainstreaming Gender into European Structural Funds and Foreign Direct
Investments) that will last two days and lead by two experts in each
session. The experts will include one theoretician and one practitioner.

We would like to invite you to the session on "Foreign Direct Investments".
During the conference and the session we would like to pose the following
question: "How can women influence the FDI and use it to engage in economic
and social policy decision making". The main objective of this session is to
provide you with knowledge and expertise about FD that would enable you to
initiate actions on FDI in your country. The Conference session on FDI will
help participants create a roadmap of FDI in their countries; create/examine
"women friendly" investment standards and codes of conduct as well as
identifying the points of intervention for women's NGOs; and methods of
attracting "good investments". The introduction of Foreign Direct
Investments and advocacy initiatives on FDI in CEE/NIS will make a critical
contribution to addressing the widespread discrimination and inequalities in
the use of public resources in the region.

The third day of the conference is reserved for the policy discussions
(feminist analysis of FDI, ESF, Gender budget as a tool of gender
mainstreaming, What is the critical feminist perspective on the economic
and social justice issues covered during the sessions, etc).

To wrap it up, the main goal of our conference is to identify the new trends
and ideas as well as new platforms for action (e.g. creating women's codes
of conducts).

We cover all the costs connected with travel, accommodation and conference.
We require from our participants to prepare short (2-3 pages maximum)
overview of how the situation of Foreign Direct Investments looks like in
their home countries.

Please send us a letter confirming your participation in the conference as
soon as possible!!!

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
