I am Mr. Bayo Gabriel, the Manager, PortHarcourt Branch of Commercial Bank of Africa. I am writing in respect of my branch foreign customer (MR. HYEWON NAM) a national of your country, who has an account number: 154-256-5204/CBA/FD with my bank to the tune of USD20.5M (Twenty Million, five hundred thousand united states Dollars), who perished with his family (His wife and only son) in a plane crash (Korean Air Flight 801) with the whole passengers aboard on August 6, 1997. Since the death of this customer none of his relatives or next of kin have shown up to claim/collect his money, the bank management of COMMERCIAL BANK OF AFRICA has made valuable efforts Which I am the branch Manager in charge to get in touch with any of late MR.HYEWON NAM's Next-of-Kin or relative anywhere in the world but unfortunately, all our efforts did not yield any positive results.

Recently the Secretary of the bank called me and told me in confidence and trust to source for a reliable foreigner who would stand as our foreign customer's next of kin. We (myself and the Secretary have reasoned that if we fail to collect this money the Federal Government of my country will confisticate it and someone else will end up looting it. As the banking ethics here does not allow such money to stay more than six years, which means, this money will be recalled to the Government treasury as unclaimed after this period. Hence, l have decided to contact you as a reliable foreigner to stand as the next of Kin to the deceased customer to claim the total fund from the deceased customer's account with the bank. Hence, I contacted you to seek your consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you are a foreigner and of the same nationality with the late customer, so that the proceeds of his account can be paid to you.
Therefore, upon the receipt of your response, I shall furnish you with more information on how you shall prosecute this claims to your favour as the next of Kin. We (myself and the Secretary) assure you that this transaction is risk free and you have the right to choose the percentage-sharing rate after the money has been transferred to your account. I also require your private telephone and Fax number for more confidential communication as regards this deal.

NB: You should not allow the the Bank management to know that we (MYSELF AND THE SECRETARY) are involved in this transaction, as we shall be acting "as insider" in this transaction monitoring all the processes relating to the successful claim of the total Fund in your favour while you shall be dealing directly with the Bank's Management as the next of Kin to the deceased customer.
