Dear Ones,
>
>Please allow us the time to introduce this most worthy project. We
need
>immediate assistance.
>
>We, the Montessori Phoenix Projects (MPP) staff, are keen to prove the
ease
>with which Montessori can be made available to children everywhere, and
are
>taking an opportunity to initiate a Montessori teacher training course
in
>Prague this July (yes, 2 weeks from now) for the Roma community.
>
>We are from the USA, have not been to Prague, yet have been doing a
similar
>course in Tijuana, Mexico, where our grassroots-oriented programming is

>spreading as fast as we had hoped. The MPP mission is to assist
>marginalized peoples in providing excellent educational environments
for
>their children. We provide complete Montessori teacher training
courses,
>offering certificates to participants who have met course objectives.
This
>may take several years, however, the children are able to benefit
>immediately, because course participants are encouraged to readily put
their
>new knowledge into practice. Students are encouraged to teach others
all
>that they are being taught, thereby expanding the student body at the
>grassroots. MPP also assists in equiping Montessori environments,
teaching
>resource management and acquisition (mostly through the kind donations
of
>Montessori schools and other interested friends).
>
>This message carries two requests for assistance from you. The first:
>helping to reach the Roma in Prague with this opportunity. If there is

>anything that you can do to get the word out to the Roma community, we
would
>be much appreciative. Particulars for the course are as follows:
>
>Dates: July 5th - 14th
>
>Course: Montessori Assistance to Infancy and the Montessori Toddler
Class.
>(Future and more advanced courses will be scheduled on-site).
>
>Requirements for participation are simple: have a passion for life, a
>desire to improve the quality of living, and a strong love and respect
for
>babies and children. There are no age limits, no education
requirements.
>
>Cost: FREE.
>
>Contact Yanna at (01142)02-20-96-15-61 for directions and time.
>
>...and the second request: Because MPP is committed that money not
prevent
>participation in courses, all courses that we offer are free of charge.

>Therefore, MPP relies on financially stable persons who love what we do
to
>fund our work. At this writing, we have paid for our own air travel,
are
>paying for all of the course materials that we will bring, and have no
>source for reimbursement in sight. If it seems like the wrong way to
go
>about initiating a project, be assured we have found that action begets

>funding and not vice-versa. We are committed that Montessori Phoenix
>Projects, a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-governmental organization be
autonomous
>and free from unneccessary demands (such that corporate gifts often
carry).
>We would also appreciate it if you can help us to reach those who would
love
>to help fund our projects.
>
>MPP is proud to work with non-Montessori public school teachers to
enrich
>their Community Service Learning curriculum. MPP is committed to
>interactive cultural exchange.
>
>Thank you for your time.
>
>Sincerely,
>
