Dear Salzburg Seminar alumni,

Greetings to you from Schloss Leopoldskron! Despite its snowing today on
top of the Untersberg, it is nonetheless almost halfway through July, we're
halfway through Session 358 on "Social and Political Implications of the
Internet," and that means we're halfway through the 1998 program. It's hard
to believe that we're already well into planning the program for next year,
but the subjects and dates are set, and we thought you'd be interested in
receiving advance notice of them.

Next year's sessions present one of the fullest and most challenging
programs the Seminar has organized in our fifty-one-year history. In
addition to the traditional core sessions and American Studies Center
programs listed below, there will be a number of special sessions and
Universities Project symposia taking place throughout the year. All
preliminary descriptions will be posted on the Seminar's website next week:
<http://www.salsem.ac.at>. As these are further developed and their
faculties identified, that information will be updated. The detailed 1999
Program Brochure will be printed and mailed to you in the fall.

Please pass information about the Seminar's programs to anyone you feel
would be a qualified participant. As in previous years, we are seeking
mid-career professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential in
their various fields and are fluent in English. Our continuing purpose is
to provide future leaders with substantive, multi-disciplinary programs
that allow them to enhance their global vision, leadership skills, and
professional networks. If you have questions or wish additional information
at this time, please do not hesitate to be in touch with me.

We are grateful for your ongoing interest and support, and send you our
very best regards.
