Measures for combating violence against children, young persons and women
Call for proposals 1998

The Daphne Initiative: Measures for combating violence against children,
young persons and women. These appropriations are intended to cover the
following measures:
1. setting up networks or reinforcement of networks at European level to
promote and coordinate information and actions on measures aimed at
protecting, and preventing violence towards children, young persons and
women.
2. special measures at European level for the protection of children, young
persons and women, with primary consideration being given to them in all
actions concerning them.
3. prevention and protection of children, young persons and women from all
kinds of violence and commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking, and
other abuse.
4. pilot projects and subsidies to NGOs or voluntary organisations working
towards these aims.
5. promoting the introduction of instruments designed to encourage the
reporting of violence against children, young persons and women and forms
of trafficking in women for the purpose of sexual exploitation
Proposals must concern the following activities:
a) Training and exchanges
b) Support to pilot projects
c) Support to European networks
d) Studies and research
e) Dissemination of information
f) Cooperation between NGOs and public authorities
The completed application form must be returned to the Commission by 19
June 1998.
