This multi-disciplinary one and a half day conference consists of two=20
plenary sessions, one on each day, and 20 papers presented in two=20
parallel streams.  Two papers will be presented at each parallel session=20
lasting one and a quarter hours.  A booklet containing abstracts of=20
parallel session papers will be available at registration. =20

Those wishing to attend the conference must register by 12 December 1997=20

Special registration rates are available for the unwaged (this includes=20
undergraduate and postgraduate students); and those attending may choose=20
from a range of accommodation types, priced from =A37 a night (hostel) to=

=A390 (top price hotel) with plenty in between - a list of accomodation is=

available from the conference organisers, please request this when returnin=

your registration form.  Those attending may also choose whether to book me=
als through the conference or make their own=20
arrangements.  Registration and meal booking forms follow below.

Travel
The Queen's University of Belfast is easily accessed by plane, boat, train=
=20
and road.  The closest airport is the Belfast City Airport (approx. a =A35=
=20
taxi ride from the University), which specialises in Irish and British=20
flights.  The Belfast International Airport is about 20 miles from the=20
university and there is an airport-city centre bus service every half-hour=
=20
costing around =A33.  It is also possible to fly to Dublin airport, travel=20
into Dublin city centre and from there, take the Dublin-Belfast train. =20
Ferries from both Scotland (Stranraer) and England (Liverpool) run=20
frequently and provide affordable foot passenger rates.  Ferry terminals=20
are close to the city centre, about 2 miles from the University.  The=20
Central Railway Station is approx. 1.5 miles from the University.=20
