Audiences for digitised cultural content
The Cultural Content Forum has just made available a report evaluating the
audiences for online cul
tural content. The analysis is based on an international call for evaluations,
and reflects the exp
erience of 90 different evaluation studies from across the world.
This study analysed two aspects of the evaluation material
an assessment of common user profiles
an assessment of metrics used in evaluation projects
The study found evidence of an emerging consensus for user profiles, but little,
if any, common app
roach to metrics.
The Digital Cultural Content Forum exists to harness expertise and forge
consensus amongst agencies
worldwide engaged in setting policy for the digitisation and online delivery of
our global cultura
l heritage.
The Forum is facilitated by: Resource, CIMI and UKOLN. The study was funded by a
range of partners,
including Resource, the Natural History Museum, SCRAN, Canadian Heritage,
Australian Museums Onlin
e and the Research Libraries Group. The study was conducted by Alice Grant
Consulting.
The study is available for download at
