I found this curious bone object on the south bank of the river recently. It’s hollow and after cleaning out some mud and grit, a small carved bone plug came loose. This can be removed and slotted back in easily. I think the dark colour would suggest something at least a couple of hundred years old. If anyone has any ideas on what it might be, please let me know!<br class=""><br class="">I’ve attached photos and please see the attached video for a more in-depth look and a demonstration of how the plug fits in place.<br class=""><br class="">Many thanks,<br class="">Charlie<br class=""><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf72214a69e6af8ef1"><IMG_9126.jpeg></span><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf7222ea6fde5d4ee2"><IMG_9134.jpeg></span><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf72243d3933a1ef03"><IMG_9136.jpeg></span><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf72279dae9151df04"><IMG_9127.jpeg></span><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf7229d3bd33d40ea5"><IMG_9130.jpeg></span><br class=""><br class=""><br class=""><span id="cid:18bf72418c134f2358d7"><FullSizeRender-compressed.mov></span>_______________________________________________<br class="">Bonetools mailing list<br class=""><a href="mailto:Bonetools@listserv.niif.hu" class="">Bonetools@listserv.niif.hu</a><br class="">https://listserv.niif.hu/mailman/listinfo/bonetools<br class=""></blockquote><br class=""></div></body></html>
