techniques, ways or forms of whale tooth extraction</span>. Any reference to the general
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">ways of working and tools</span>, and use/meaning, of whale teeth in any period (archaeo and ethno), is also very welcome.</span></div>

<div><span>Does anyone have experience with this subject? recommended bibliography? At this point I don't care about the chronology, anything goes.</span></div>

<div><span>I have a sperm whale tooth presumably from the II or III millennium B.C. (we haven't been able to date it yet) with clear tool marks, but due to its arrangement and stigmata, I can't interpret its origin. The tooth is not complete, in fact I would
say that about 30-40% of the proximal area may be missing, and the marks are precisely in the transverse fracture, so my first impression is that they could be marks for 1) extracting the tooth from the jaw or 2) dividing the tooth into two parts for manipulation.</span></div>
