A colleague has excavated this beautiful double tool, made of whale bone of a right whale (identified by ZOOMS). The handle is made of oak wood and has a wedge of willow for fixation. Use wear analysis shows that it was not used to chop and they think it could

 have been used for the working of plant materials. It is dated circa 1500 BC and has been found in the Netherlands.</div>
