<div dir="ltr">Dear Imola,<div><br></div><div>The "organic material" looks like burnt (human?) bone. Parts of the bone object are also burnt. I suspect that it comes from the same archaeological feature (cremation?). Regarding the use of the object -- I looked at the photos with two colleagues and we suggest that it might have something to do with plaiting. Maybe it would be worthwhile to look for some etnographic analogies?</div><div><br></div><div>Best,</div><div>Kinga<br><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr">śr., 26 wrz 2018 o 11:35 <<a href="mailto:bonetools-request@listserv.niif.hu">bonetools-request@listserv.niif.hu</a>> napisał(a):<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">Send Bonetools mailing list submissions to<br>

Dear everyone,<br>
I'm new to this group, thank you for accepting me!A friend and colleague of mine reached out to ask about some discoveries at a Wietenberg cemetery at F?nt?nele, Romania (Bistrita-Nasaud County), from the Middle Bronze Age. A bone artifact much like a belt (see attached picture), and something they call organic material.? Unfortunately, all I have now are these photos. My question is, have you ever seen such an artifact? If yes, where and from what period? And do you think it's possible to tell what animal or body part it belongs to? And about the organic material, does anyone anywhere analyze these? Can you help out with their contact information?Thank you in advance for any opinions!?Kind regards,Imola<br>
