I am looking for something more detailed on boar tusk tools, in particular<br>
on technology and typology in the Bronze Age.<br>
I have from one Bronze Age site in Pannonia. excavated in early 20th<br>
century, few dozens of boar tusks, mainly fragmented (some with fresh<br>
breakage, since they are very brittle and are being stored in the museum<br>
for several decades), therefore it is difficult to distinguish débitage<br>
from fragmented tools. They usually have traces of scraping on the inner<br>
surfaces, but I am not able to distinguish the usewear on the enamel (outer<br>
surfaces). Presumably, most of the tusks were just split and then more-less<br>
crescent-shaped pieces were used for scraping, however, any help is most<br>
welcome. In particular, does anyone know any large assemblage of boar tusk<br>
tools from this period, and has anyone conducted experiments on boar tusks<br>
to distinguish manufacturing traces made by flint and by bronze tool?<br>
