<DIV>Hello, </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I am looking at what could be fragments of a Saxon period rigid heddle from
the UK. There certainly seems to be a number rigid heddles in bone or antler
from Roman European sites and a couple in antler from medieval Scandinavian
sites, and a possible rigid-heddle band from the late 11th C, but there seems to
be a definite “hole” in the published material regarding rigid heddles in
Western Europe from the 6th-12th Century. Does anyone know of any unpublished
examples or research into them for this period?</DIV>
