<span style='color: black; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;'>Professor Mike Parker Pearson will be one of the keynote
speakers. Professor Parker-Pearson will be discussing his recent fascinating and
exciting research on Stonehenge and its associated complex of monuments. This
research has shed new light on the nature of late stone age gatherings along
with the large scale changes in society and culture that took place 5000-4500
years ago. According to Professor Parker-Pearson "This should be a fascinating
conference, bringing together experts in different subjects - there should be
some real insights into the nature of gatherings past and
present."<br><br>Professor Parker-Pearson will be joined by the other keynote
speaker at the conference Clark McPhail, who is emeritus Professor of Sociology
at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His paper ‘The Life Course of
Temporary Gatherings’ will concentrate on the forms and dynamics of individual
and collective actions within gatherings. This will prove to be a dynamic two
days with speakers coming from all over Ireland, the US, Britain and Norway to
make their contribution to our understanding of the significance of gatherings
in people’s lives not just in the past but also the present.</span></div><div id="yiv9515790982yui_3_7_2_46_1381249354207_44">
