you for your comments and pictures. I have
identified the used material as antler, probably red deer
antler. <br>
This object has been found in The Hague, the Netherlands, and
probably dates to
the mid-iron age, 500-250 BC. <br>
<br>
I have no idea about its function. The pottery from this site
indicate that
salt production probably took place at this site. Two holes
obviously have wear
and it is possible that a third hole was present at the broken
end. I don't
know the original length of the object. If anyone has a good
idea I would love
to hear it.<br>

Does anyone know about any objects from the same period with a
similar
decoration? <o:p></o:p></span></p>
