I have seen many brushes and toothbrushes excavated or in museums in the Netherlands. Sometimes the types are small like these; sometimes double-sides as well. One could wonder about the function or the reason for such a small brushes (for children perhaps?). The small brushes I have seen, often have a earscoop or toothpick at the other end. <BR>The grooves on the backside are holding the metal (copper?) threads which hold the hairs in place.<BR> <BR>
