have learned that collagen testing and histological methods are
available which can determine the genus, but so far, records do
provide the information I seek.</DIV>

provide me with their informed "guess" as to the three most likely animals
whose bone was used for that purpose in Europe. I am hoping that I will
receive at least ten responses. I will tally the results and report back.</DIV>
