Dear WBRG members,
this month’s bonetool is a strange Middle Bronze Age whale bone artefact of yet unknown purpose, found in the coastal region of The Netherlands:

Joris Brattinga (J.Brattinga at archol.nl <mailto:J.Brattinga at archol.nl>) would be grateful for suggestions of its function and comparative items. As always, please do not forget to CC the BONETOOLS list if you answer Joris’ request.
Aija Macāne and Éva David are organizing a session entitled
Pendant or not a pendant? Identification, uses and meanings
at the 20th world Congress of the International Union for Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences (UISPP) in Timişoara, Romania • 3. – 10. September 2023
Please find their call for papers attached below.
