[Bonetools] WBRG website updates August 2022

Hello all

Both objects are very interesting. I think the second one is made of a sheep or goat radius, can it be? In the Bronze Age of the Iberian Peninsula similar objects made of sheep tibiae are very common. I enclose a photo.

Greetings

I agree that the top photo is a tibiotarsus of bird.

Bottom photo - I assume that the humerus of a sheep or goat.

Best wishes,

what is the size ?

it's not cow bone, but bird, and I know bone daggers (like the one on the left at least) made from cassowarry (emu ?) bones

A turkey leg is going to be eated here ; I can tell you news of the bones soon

bone corrers are in Mac Gregor book (I dont have it not there, on the contryside) ; as far as I remember, it deals with ovicaprine metapodials

a very classical correr (made of iron) here is about 15 mm in diameter

Hi All,

Thank you Christian for sharing part of my 2014 presentation. I am hoping that the next meeting in Paris goes ahead because I would to give a presentation on Bone Apple Corers, that's if I can get travel insurance. I think I now have amassed enough information & corers. On the way I've got some very odd scoops sold mostly at auction, I am attaching a scan of the catalogue entry of two such bone scoops. Comments would be welcome.

Kind regards to all,
