Objet: [Bonetools] knive handle
Dear Dr. Grau
maybe something interesting for You. The clasp-knife handle showing a leopard is made of ivory but was found in Ovilvava Wels. We do not have tigers, lions or leopards in Austria, the roman Province called Noricum. We think e.g. a roman soldier or a veteran whose unit was stationed in the near east could have imported this knife.
kind regards
Dr. Renate Miglbauer
